The cloud API has auth, quotas, and a Stripe webhook stub wired up, but it's not connected to a real production payment flow. Both access paths (local and cloud) are free to use today. This page describes the tier structure that's designed, not a checkout you can complete.

Running Spomory locally against your own LLM API key costs nothing beyond whatever you already pay that LLM provider. This isn't a time-limited trial of the cloud product — it's a permanently supported, independent way to use Spomory.
